Parents: Mother: Alicja Conrad, a Polish ballerina. Nicolai loved his mother despite their difficult and poor life, but she died of tuberculosis when he was about seven years old, and he ended up in an orphanage until he was taken in by Rasputin, who saw the advantages of having the tsar's illegitimate son as his follower.
Father: Tsar Nicholas II- He probably doesn't even know about Nicolai's existence, but that doesn't stop Nicolai from having some complex feelings about his father. Nicolai believes he should be the rightful heir to the Russian throne and seeks an alliance with Japan to install himself as tsar, but he also sort of admires Nicholas and wishes that Nicholas would acknowledge and be proud of him.
Siblings: Has four younger half-sisters (Olga, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia) and a younger half-brother (Alexei), but doesn't know any of them personally. Resents them for both their good relationship with their father and their high status.

-Jeremiah: Likes having him around because he enjoys having people follow his orders, but is also unsettled by Jeremiah's attraction to him.
-Dahlia: Finds her very attractive. Would like to be friends at her, but is taking it slowly because he can tell she's very intelligent and he doesn't want to make a fool of himself in front of her.
-Gant: Thinks he's a big oaf. A slight antagonism exists between them.

-Initially he liked Rasputin and though of him as a sort of surrogate father because he paid a lot of attention to him, but when he realized Rasputin only wanted to use him to have an insider at the Vatican and as a pawn to use against the tsar, he became disgusted and decided he would turn against Rasputin when the time was right.
-Has a creepy, stalker-like obsession with Karin Koenig.
-Behind Rasputin's back, made a soul pact with the demon Astaroth to gain enough power to hopefully defeat Rasputin and Yuri. Believes he is strong enough to withstand Astaroth's powerful influence and stay in control. Also went behind Rasputin's back to make friends with Kato and through him find connections in Japan to support his bid to become tsar.
